Sophos not updating to version 10
If you see Sophos Anti Virus with a red shield in it, first thing I used to do is rename the Cache folder in Program Files and then click update.Job done, it updates we can all go home with a smile on our faces. What I noticed recently was that this didnt fix the problem at all, it generally made a bit more of a mess. So, if you find that the Cache folder has an update in there (Usually 68Mb ) Navigate to: C:\Program Files\Sophos\Auto Update\cache\savxp and click Install Sophos Anti Virus, this will run you through a quick Win Installer and then update the program. This time our update manager looks to be working fine however we are not getting updates. In the log viewer app everything looks great except I see this message from time to time starting from the 15th: 2014/09/18 PM Information The synchronization of protection data for product release 'Sophos Patch Server' was successful, but no new data was found.I have written a program, for the Windows implementation of the Sophos Anti-Virus, that automates this manual process. This program determines the installed version of SAV, checks whether there are new virus definitions (IDE files) available on the Sophos web site, downloads and installs them if appropriate.
Hello All, So yeah I am back with another Sophos Console problem. It consists of a three-part version identifier: major release identifier (10), minor release identifier (3), and maintenance release identifier (15) and threat detection engine version (VE3.60.0).If you are subscribed to a fixed software version, we recommend that, to ensure best protection, you change your subscription to a "recommended" package. So I just upgraded my Windows 8.1 install to Windows 10 and I noticed that the Sophos icon in the task manager does not display. Is Sophos compatible or is there a new, soon to be released version coming?
